There are several advantages to dying your own hair at home. However, one disadvantage of dying your hair is that if you’re not careful, the color might stain your forehead, neck, or hands. It might also be challenging to get the stains off of your skin. Anvihair will share with you how to remove dye stains from your skin and some tips to avoid coloring your skin the next time when you color your hair at home.
Menu
1. Removing hair dye from your scalp
1. Baby oil and olive oil
Oil may be an excellent hair dye remover since it helps to break up the pigment while being gentle on the skin. In fact, it can assist in softening while you scrub. Oils may not be as effective as more corrosive solutions, but it’s crucial to take care of your skin, even if it means accepting a few minor hair color stains.
To try the oil method, apply a tiny amount of oil on a cotton pad or use your finger and gently rub into the discolored region of your skin. Then wait it on for up to 8 hours.
If you are going to sleep, you need to wrap it with a bandage or plastic so it doesn’t stain anything. After that, washing it off with warm water to remove
2. Toothpaste
Toothpaste may be used to remove stains from your teeth, but it can also be used to clean hair color stains from your skin.
Apply a tiny quantity of non-gel toothpaste to a cotton swab or your finger. Massage it gently over the dyed area of your skin. Leave on for 5 to 10 minutes before removing with a warm-water-soaked washcloth.
3. Rubbing alcohol
Because rubbing alcohol is abrasive and irritating to the skin, it may not be a good choice if you have extremely sensitive or dry skin.
To use as a color remover, pour a little amount of rubbing alcohol onto a cotton ball or cotton pad. Gently dab it on the stained region of your skin. Once the color is gone, take sure to clean the area with warm water and soap.
2. Removing dye from hands and nails
Because your hands are more acclimated to wear and tear than your face and scalp, you may use more stringent procedures to remove color stains on hands. Washing your hands with a combination of dish soap and baking soda is one effective way. Because dish soap contains harsh cleaning ingredients, be sure to thoroughly rinse it off before applying a hydrating hand cream.
1. Nail polish remover
Although nail paint remover should not be used on your face or neck, it can help erase stains from your hands. Apply a tiny quantity of nail polish remover on a cotton swab or cotton ball. For a few seconds, rub it over the discoloration. The stain should begin to fade.
After removing the nail polish remover, wash your hands with warm water and soap.
2. Dish soap and baking soda
As another method, you might combine equal parts liquid dish detergent and baking soda. Stir vigorously until incorporated. Detergent removes stains from the skin, and baking soda has an abrasive effect (which may be too harsh for some skin types!). By wiping away the skin cells coloured with dye, baking soda helps to uncover the fresh layers of skin underlying. Apply the baking soda and detergent combination to the dye-stained skin, and then scrape the solution into the skin in a circular motion using a makeup removal pad. Avoid contact with eyes to avoid irritation.
3. Preventing hair dye stains
To keep dye from staining your skin the next time when coloring your hair, you can try one of the following methods
Wear gloves to keep your hand safe
Put something between your hairline and your hair. Before applying the color, apply a thick line of moisturizing cream, petroleum jelly, or lip balm around the hairline.
Wipe up any spills as you go. A moist cotton swab, pad, or washcloth can be used. Removing discoloration soon away can help avoid stains.
If no at-home procedures work to remove color from your skin, consider visiting a salon.
